final product. with the beatles album cover done in 4 shades of red lipstick. I’m proud of how it came out i suppose. I didn’t realize how messy lipstick was going to be, which is silly, there are a lot of smudges and imperfections but oh well.
I’m going to tell you, tumblr, how much of a genius I am when it comes to art.
well, generally I am terrible and not creative when it comes to thinking of ideas of what to do. I can draw something in front of me, or paint it and make it look alright. But for my final project in art, our assignment is to “draw” an autobiographical drawing in a non conventional medium. First thought when i heard this “….shit” BUT i thought long on how I wanted to pull through on this. Well needless to say, I came up with a brilliant idea. I grew up listening to the Beatles, for my third birthday I received a giant Beatles poster to hang in my room (still there today). When listening to the various CD’s I used to start singing the next song on the CD before it even started playing(can still do this by the way) , the Beatles were pretty much my favorite. And i was like okay, I can do a Beatles album cover, but in what medium? Oh and then I though LIPSTICK. Oh hells yes. Lipstick. So i am doing the “With the Beatles” album cover, blocked it out into 4 different values and I am painting(?) I guess you could call it, in 4 different shades of lipstick. I mean I am pretty proud of myself. Because my childhood would be the Beatles and then the lipstick represents me maturing or present day or whatever you want to call it. Best art idea I have ever had to date.
